It is an established fact that many individuals, especially those of African American descent are at risk for hypertension, described as a silent killer.  Hypertension strikes with a debilitating effect among the underserved at the time they least expect, resulting in major disabilities such as stroke, or even death.  Other than genetic predisposition, hypertension is largely triggered by the lifestyle of its victims including poor nutrition, lack of exercise, and academic stress for students, and inconsistent medication regimen. Hypertension is preventable and manageable with appropriate lifestyle changes and medication regimen It is for this reason that the membership Touch of Mercy Inc partnered with African Nursing Students Association (ANSA) of Lehman College, Student Health Education (SHE) Department of Lehman College, and American Heart Association (AHA) to organize a therapeutic interaction with the largely black student population of Lehman College to carry out blood pressure
